We are pleased to confirm that DEFA is ready and willing to work with anyone who wants to secure accreditation to access the Tesco (and other retailer’s) supply chains. We are using our existing platform under the Agriculture & Fisheries Grant scheme to facilitate the support we are providing on this front. A step by step guide is below.
How do I apply for SALSA grant support?
- Download the Food Business Development Application form found at gov.im/foodgrants
- Application should be made under Marketing Support – Schedule 1
- If costs are not currently known please forward supporting costs later
- Submit completed application form via email to food@gov.im
What can I claim on for grant support?
Grants support with be offered for the following:
- SALSA Audit Fees
- SALSA Go + Additional fees if required by SALSA
- Travel and accommodation of the SALSA Auditor
- Membership of required professional trade bodies if required by SALSA
- Consultancy fee
- Initial consultation
- Development of procedures and required paperwork to fufill SALSA audit requirements
- Pre SALSA audit
- Once online form has been submitted and an IM number is received, you will be able to purchase SALSA membership / appoint a consultant
- All financial support will be paid on receipt of invoices dated after the receipt of the application form
Supporting Information
To support any application, the requirement for achieving SALSA within 9 months would be required, as well as information relating to, amongst other things:
- The current numbers of SKU’s currently in Shoprite and Tesco’s proposal for the number of SKU’s (If applicable).
- Value of sales for the most recent financial year split into local, off-island, retail and wholesale
- Your last 12 months turnover and your forecast turnover for the business based on the number of SKU’s in Tesco (If applicable).
